"I loved this place very much! I booked for an "apartment", and it turned out to be a very spacious hut for me! Radiators were installed to make room warm. Staff were nice and polite. Matices operates both hotels, hostels and tours. They will send you offers for airport transfer and tours to attractions nearby. Their advice and offer are helpful. There is a good supermarket nearby and you can save money by cooking at the kitchen of this property."

"Restaurants at the main street are expensive. If you want to dine out, please check google map and you should find some good restaurants with good value for money nearby."

"Amazing location - right in the centre of town. Beautiful cabins, hot water, comfortable beds and really friendly staff! The receptionist, Flo, was amazing and so friendly! She gave us so many recommendations and we were very grateful."

"The communication was incredible since the reservation was made, where they reached out to start validating details and looking to help out on tours, transfers or anything we might need for our trip. The location is great, right near many restaurants and shops. The room temperature and the hot water and its pressure were great too. Will be making sure to stay here every time I visit El Calafate."

"Only detail would be that in the second room we stayed in, the main room was upstairs. But, this wasn't an issue for us, just something to make sure to ask about if a person does have an issue with going up a set of stairs."

"The property is just a short walk away from many restaurants and shops. Reception staff were very helpful throughout stay. The room was quite large with an upstairs containg more beds. There was a small area for cooking and also a fridge. We recommend leaving the heater on at all times as the room gets extremely cold."

"We arranged what we thought was a private taxi at reception to bring us to the airport. The taxi made a stop at a sister property to collect another couple making the drive extremely cramped with all of our bags. The cost of the journey was not spread out amongst 4 (I assume the other couple also had to pay full price). May be best to arrange the transport yourself."

"Unfortunately, our boiler was broken for the first 2 days so no hot water. Also apartment was old/basic- a few things broken, such as drawers and one of the hob rings. There was no oven as seen in the photos. It was basic but for what you pay, it's fair enough."

"The smell is very bad. First they covered with a diffuser smell, but after we smelled a very bad drainage smell. All facilities are old and almost broken. There were flies everywhere as well."

"For this great price I guess we should have known not to expect too much. If you are only looking for a place to stay and planning to be out the whole day it will be fine. Kirchen only has very basic utensils and odds and ends with no counter space to prep meals. Outside random food was lying around on the grass to feed stray cats."

"The cabana is in a great position and its a great cheap option, but it looks very old, water leaked from bathroom toilet and sink, shower drain was blocked, the house was very cold and a bit dirty"
