Hotel Cayuga

"Nice place for a night or two if you’re going on a trip to Tortuga island or have a ferry. The breakfast was à la carte and really tasty but it took around 25-30 minutes to get it. We also had dinner there and it was great too. The rooms were fine. We had an issue with a jacuzzi that was dirty but after discussing it with reception we got upgraded to a way nicer and bigger room with a clean jacuzzi this time 😄 we read some comments that it is quite loud from the swimming pool nevertheless that was not our experience."

"The staff doesn’t really speak much English but it wasn’t the biggest problem. There are very limited parking spaces but we were lucky to get a spot in the evening (though not sure we would have it the next day if we wanted to use the car)."

"It was very convenient overnight stay to take the ferry - there was a pool and restaurant and the room was very clean. Staff were very helpful and kind. We enjoyed our dinner there and lovely breakfast too. Thank you"

"The hotel is great for a short stay but we felt its location was not somewhere where we would have wanted to stay for longer. This may be our mistake - we asked a receptionist to tell us the way to the beach - he said left -but we walked that way and all the entrances to the beach were blocked off… we think he meant right ( and our fault again for not speaking better Spanish) … it was only the next day we saw the lively town and possibly better access to the beach as we were driving to the ferry. Perhaps some local information in the rooms may be helpful. The main thing was the music at the pool - our room was opposite and it was very very loud all afternoon until about 8pm - turn it down a little and would be great!"

"The breakfast was a single plate and adequate. Property was easy to find with street parking outside. Nice air conditioned bar, friendly staff serving good selection of drinks and cocktails."

"We booked the large room with hot tub. Disappointed to find only a tiny window for natural light. No suitcase stand so all had to be done on the floor. Only a small patio table and one plastic chair in corner plus small sofa. No hanging space for clothes or other horizontal surfaces. Poor lighting with only on/off for bright ceiling lights and no lamps/ bedside lights."

"We enjoyed the choices for complimentary breakfast, the size of the pool was good, It was walking distance to the beach and to a gym. Go to El Codigo for dinner - only 1.3km away and the food was tasty."

"The Wi-Fi reception in the room was intermittent, no one cleaned out the ash in the pool/deck from the forest fire, the room was basic with no coffee maker, fridge and only soap. No overly good value for a basic hotel room with no hotel amenities. If you want safe access, ask the front staff upon check-in. The drape on the window didn't close all the way so there was light in our room (121), as well, the window faces the pool so no privacy"

"The room was very noisy. There was a pump or fan near the room which went on & off all night. The bathroom window did not shut completely, so noise from the street & the bar could be heard. The aircondiyioner was noisy too. Not much storage, just two sets of drawers."

"My room had no window which wasn't obvious to me from the booking, and it was missing hooks to hang things up or just unpack a little. I had to have the AC running whenever I was in the room and that got a bit noisy at night. The parking is nice, but the curbs are so high that I damaged my car a little going out."
