"The staff were ultra helpful and friendly, and we were so grateful to them for holding a room for us while we waited for a flight out. The room was spotless, beds were very comfy and the location was v central. Great to have breakfast on the upstairs terrace."

"The receptionists during the day and night were very helpful and spoke in English. Lamine who was working in the night was kind enough to wake me up so I didn’t have to miss my flight. There’s always someone at the reception so that makes it safe. Definitely recommended"

"Our booking was made very late and despite this we were so warmly welcomed. There was beautiful Cape Verdean music being played when we arrived by two incredible musicians which was lovely. And the breakfast in the morning was delicious. The fresh mango juice was particularly mouthwatering!"

"Snídaně i večeře byly moc dobré. Snídaně švédský stůl . Pěkný velký bazén. Malá zátoka s vlnolami hned u restaurace. Koncem května tu bylo velice málo lidí. Cca 3km od hotelu jsou dobré pláže na šnorchlování a pozorování želv."

"The apartment and the facilities were excellent. The owners had thought of everything. The location was a gentle ten minute stroll into the town. Henning informed us of where to go for any items we required including a bakery, supermarket and fruit market- as well has supplied us with taxi numbers and tour guides . The kitchen was fully stocked with everything. For a self catering apartment it was fantastic. It was also exceptionally clean. The owners were really responsive to all our questions and when we were there Henning was also on hand for anything we needed to know. They even put up Christmas decorations for us. Wonderful hosts."

"The best place to stay in Maio - Matia and Mirko are excellent hosts, always helpful and very communicative and truly wanting to make sure you have a lovely stay! They went above and beyond to ensure we made it back in time for our flight and for that we are truly thankful! The facilities are the best in Maio, room is cozy, bed is comfortable, everything is very clean and AC works well. There's a good breakfast available and the restaurant is also very good. In addition to this, there are a lot of activities you can book directly and we had a great time with our rented car visiting Ilha do Maio. All in all, despite some issues with travel arrangements, we had a lovely experience in Maio and would highly recommend visiting and staying in Pensão Big Maio!"
