"The hotel is very beautiful and very well maintained in the exterior parts. Wonderful gardens and a nice pool. The food is great and the staff is welcoming. The hotel is located in a quiet and calm place which makes the stay experience more pleasant."
"The room was a bit old and not properly maintained. The shower head was not easy to operate, the doors are not painted properly. Communication with the hotel prior to our arrival was almost impossible, I c ould not reach them by phone , or by booking. Although they ask to communicate with them by what’s up they never answered , and they did not respond to the messages I sent through Booking except once . However, the stay at the hotel made up for it. But there is a lot of room for improvement in terms of communication levels"
"The hotel is really beautiful. The gardens are exquisite and the views over the lake are exceptional. My room was really pretty and comfortable with a terrace overlooking the gardens and lake. The restaurant was great too and not that expensive for a fancy hotel. There’s a nice pool area and you can use a tiny beach like area beside the lake too."
"For the area it’s ridiculously expensive and clearly designed for rich tourists (there’s even a helipad so you can fly in). And the price doesn’t even include breakfast. Also the WiFi doesn’t work in the rooms, only the communal areas. It’s also a bit out of the way and you have to take a TukTuk to get to anywhere. They usually come quite quickly, but it’s a pain and they hike their prices up for hotel guests."
"Hotel Atitlan is exactly how we expected it. The views and gardens are absolutely stunning. We also tried the restaurant in the evening, and it was very good. The decoration is beautiful everywhere. The staff is very attentive, they made our stay particularly enjoyable."
"The breakfast is not included."
"Wonderful facilities incl lush gardens and magnificient view."
"Softer pillows please or a pillow menu."
"Beautiful setting on the lake Well manicured gardens"
"On average 30=45 mins from ordering to delivery of food. Very slow turnaround. Limited vegetarian menu. Kitchen was inflexible The rooms were a bit dinghy"
"Hotel atitlan exceeded expectations and has been our favourite Central American hotel so far in our trip. The hotel photos maybe make the rooms a bit dark and dated but in fact they were charming and characterful, and very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the restaurant food was great (dinner and breakfast) and the restaurant location is beautiful. The grounds are stunning! If the national trust went tropical this is what you would get. Beautifully kept. The hotel is a little out of town ($4 tuk tuk) but that means you’re out of the bustle and noise of Pana. Gorgeous pool."
"Only niggle, not much shade for the pool sun loungers. No sun parasols for them (only the tables). A few more sun loungers in the gardens shady spots would be perfect."
"It was the most beautiful hotel, the gardens are truly magical. We enjoyed the restaurant for dinner and breakfast, it was an expensive luxury to eat there. The staff were lovely and the room spacious and comfortable with beautiful balcony views"
"The tuk tuk service in to town could be easier to follow. We were scammed going in to town with who we thought was the hotel tuk tul driver and it wasn't. Be careful to go with the tuk tuk driver in hotel uniform"
"Location is fantastic, excellent food, friendly staff, wonderful garden and selected furnishings"
"Pet fee to be paid every day even if you require no housekeeping"
"Amazing views and the hotel is exquisite in appearance with a lovely garden. The staff is friendly and attentive. The boat rides on offer are really nice."
"The food and drinks at the restaurant were disappointingly tasteless. Both for dinner and breakfast. There are also some logistical issues such as there is no hairdryer in the room nor a table in the bathroom to put your toiletries on. Water in the shower was little and barely warm. TV is located too low to be able to watch from the bed. And other little things that could be easily fixed. The managers should stay in the rooms themselves to fix such issues."
"The breakfast buffet is always excellent- The bartender made the most delicious cocktails. Everything in this hotel is amazing. Staff super friendly, food excellent, drinks amaaazing. Pool and jacuzzi with perfect temperature. Lots of lounging chairs right in front of the lake, the awesome Lake Atitlán with its magic."

"Slow travel hits different, unplanned, I immersed myself in the culture, people and atmosphere of a special place called Finca Tatin, deep in the jungle, an hour lancha boat ride from Rio Dulce City. We also chugged downriver through the picturesque El Cañón del Río Dulce to Livingston, passing lodges, schools, private houses, pelican and cormoran colonies and shipwrecks, to arrive to this small, ramshackle town, on Guatemala’s Caribbean coast, at the mouth of the river, where no roads leads to it. There is poverty everywhere, and life can clearly be challenging, but there is this relaxed, Caribbean vibe and friendly and welcoming people, a haven for people fleeing oppression: especially the Garifuna and the Q’echi Maya."

"The room and the whole atmosphere/service felt more like a classical hotel than a hostel, so the price was more than fair. The staff are extremely engaged in making their guests feel comfortable and they even organized fresh glutenfree bread for breakfast. The location is a little off in Zona 10, but everything needed is within reach by foot and/or taxi."

"Breakfast was good. But, the coffee part was confusing. Some breakfasts came with it, some not. And, if you ordered coffee before breakfast you had to pay for it separately even if your breakfast included it! Something about slightly different size cups. Just, include coffee. Don’t charge for a refill. It’s being cheap."
