"The house is beautifully presented with a really great mix of old and modern features. It’s spacious, with high ceilings and great views. All the furnishings were really comfortable and very well maintained. We had our 18 month old with us and the house felt really safe for him too, he loved all the cute little pieces around the house (he was very sad to say “bye bye” to the doggie draft excluder, the fox doorstop and the metal rooster in the window!!). The house is a great place to stay for a family with lots to see and do in Connemara and Galway city nearby. Jackie, our host, was incredibly responsive and made the check-in & out really easy for us. We would love to come back to stay again soon!"

"We had a really lovely, relaxing stay at Lakeside House. The main attraction is the amazing view over the lake, but the house itself is very comfortable and cozy. There is a huge selection of books, games (adults & kids) and jigsaws. And there were logs left for us to start a fire. We loved it! You are in an ideal location to explore the beaches, Clifden, Kylemore Abbey, the national park or just follow the Wild Atlantic Way. Thank you Jackie!"

"Fantastic location. Quiet area but close enough to Oughterard village which has everything you need. Jackie was a great host with excellent communication. The house itself is very comfortable and a delight to return to after a day exploring Connemara and beyond. If you happen to be staying when the sky is clear at night do yourself a favour and go outside and have a look. Great dark sky star gazing. We will return!"

"We had a great week in Jackie’s house. It’s was clean, comfortable, spacious and very well kept. The view of the lake from the back of the house was lovely, even on a rainy day. It was in a great location for visiting the sights in Galway and was less than 45 minutes drive to everywhere we visited - Clifden, Salthill, Spiddal, Cong, Kylemore Abbey, Wildlands Activity Centre. It is a short drive into Oughterard village which has shops, cafes and pubs. We enjoyed a meal in Powers Thatch pub and loved the pastries and coffee from Sullivans Country Grocer. I would highly recommend a stay at the Lakeside House. Jackie was a very responsive host and gave great advice and help when I messaged her."

"Only one thing-The proximity of the house to a busy road meant noise if you left windows open. We had to keep the windows closed at night as we are light sleepers."

"What a fabulous place this is, Jackie our host paid us a visit with her daughter Tara to sort out the wi-fi as we were having trouble. Soon sorted nothing was too much trouble even to the extent of sorting out somewhere that did a Sunday roast for us all. The house is nestled down a short access road on the side of a lough with great views. Such a lovely spacious place with everything you could need for your stay. We (6) had a great time, the house was perfectly located for our visits to all the local attractions. It was great to arrive back from our visits to a warm comfortable house home from home."
