"The location and view. The room is tidy, clean and large with an excellent balcony with fresh cool views. The morning is cool temperature and peaceful. We walked across the road to have breakfast at the excellent Periyar restaurant Cafe which was perfect as breakfast wasn't available at the accommodation. Keep the door locked even if you are in as we had a monkey push the door open and try to come in also a baby one tried to come in through the window grill. They look great on the. Balcony, just don't want them too close."

"We booked specifically for the balcony view over the edge of the wildlife reserve (make sure you book the balcony room!) and it didn't disappoint. Spotted 30 bird species from our room, plus amazing close up views of gaur one evening/morning, as well as langurs, mongoose, sambar, palm squirrels and wild pigs. Also a charming host and a huge room with a kettle so you can watch early morning wildlife with a coffee to hand. Just make sure you keep contents of the room secure from the 🐒🙈!"

"Exceptional location, and exceptionally friendly staff that helped us before our arrival with the booking of a hike that could not get through online via the park booking system. It suppressed any stress. The view from of the park from the terrace is outstanding: buffalo’s, deers, wild pigs, numerous birds. Spotless clean. We highly recommended Kerala House."

"We loved the balcony overlooking periyar tiger reserve, lots of wonderful animals and birds to observe. The homestay is beautifully clean and well maintained and it is obvious that our hosts take enormous pride in creating a good quality, helpful service to guests. The bed was large and comfy. Breakfast was great, lovely home cooked food with a great pot of tea. Conveniently located amongst shops & restaurants & 10 minutes walk from the starting point of the tiger reserve adventures. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay."

"Really lovely and helpful host who organised our transport to and from Thekkaddy and our tours in Periyar Tiger Reserve for us, he even made sure we had the entrance ticket for the reserve and knew where to go. The hotel is peaceful and quiet and the rooms big and clean. Location is 5 minute walk from the entrance to the reserve. Best thing was the balcony overlooking the nature reserve, saw so many wild animals from there and the monkeys even came up onto the balcony!"

"The owners of the property are very friendly and helped us arrange our tour in Periyar. The room itself was very spacious, clean and quiet. The view from the balcony stole the show - it looked directly over the edge of the Periyar Tiger Reserve and we could see lots of birdlife and wild boar from our room. Very pleasant stay and would recommend."
