Jannat House

"I was fascinated by the the numerous gazebos where you could relax especially at night when it was cooler than being in the room , the breakfast was exceptional and the staff were helpful and polite. Had dinner at the house almost everyday during my stay and I enjoyed every meal."

"The staff working at Jannat House are all very pleasant and attentive. Caroline was especially welcoming. The location in Lamu old town was great but only 5 minutes walk to the sea. The hotel is comprised of old buildings and has a lot of character. Breakfast was good and diner ordered in advance was well prepared and tasty. I found it great value for money and would have loved to stay longer if I could."

"Fantastic lush garden with lots of outdoor dining and bar space, super friendly staff."

"The pool isn't very inviting, doesn't feel private, i felt a bit exposed and it could do with a few more plants to match the rest of the garden."

"Jannat house is very very romantic! The house is built in typical Swahili style and it lies in the centre of Lamu. It is super cosy, beautiful, rustic with many beautiful plants around and an amazing small pool in the centre of the house, next to a bar. The highlight (besides romantic style of the house with many balconies and stairs) were the people working there! Caroline and the rest of the staff were amazing! super cool, helpful, constantly around making sure we have everything we need. They also prepare the freshest food and the breakfasts were great. Thank you so so much fot this beautiful experience! They are also well known in Lamu and well conected and can help you with tips on where to go and how to reach it. Great!! Thanks so much, I hope I see you guys soon!"

"Everything was just perfect :)"

"This house is so beautiful! You have many terraces to relax, the pool always clean and available. The rooms are essentials but clean. It is right in Lamu old town, and it is an oasis of peace. The breakfast here is amazing (with fruits and eggs) and they change it every day. The owner also gave us good recommendations for fish restaurants."

"Festus, one of the staff members, was the best part of my stay here! He was super helpful with lots of suggestions of things to do and fair prices to expect for them, very welcoming and made me feel at home. The pool is refreshing during the super hot days as well. Very quiet place considering the fact that you're in Old Town which can be hectic at times."

"The whole place could do with a fresh lick of paint. Of course, it didn't spoil my stay at all, but it could have been even more beautifully pleasing."
