"Kiko’s place is a little heaven on its own. The staff is discreet, caring, and attentive whether you stay for one night or much longer. Breakfast is lovely, and the big shared kitchen is perfect if you feel like cooking. The garden is pure paradise, crowned by its giant baobab and blessed by the daily visit of the Colobus family. The pool area is calm and ideal for reading your favorite book or simply resting in peace. No need to carry towels or beach towels — everything is provided. The rooms are spacious, spotless, and cleaned every day. A truly safe place for solo travelers, families, or couples. I will definitely come back and recommend this gorgeous place to everyone. "Mami Wata is a really great place to stay just a few minutes walk away from Diani beach. The house is nice and has also great outdoor seatings and areas to relax. Rooms are spacious and nice and Mami Wata really works well when you are staying with a group of friends. There is a chef available in case you want for an extra fee and the food was not just excellent but also really great value for money compared to some of the overpriced seafood places along the beach."

"Mami Wata is a hidden gem in Diani beach. Although not directly on the beach, a short 10 minute walk and you're there. There are only three others rooms, which makes it a quiet and nice setting. The rooms are clean and there is everything you need (e.g., a fan for the hot nights), breakfast is good and there are many spots on the property to relax. Vervets and Colubus are also residents here! The staff, Grace and George, are very helpful and kind. Kiko was a very good host, super flexible and always ready to help. Thank you for an amazing stay!"

"Amazing place, absolutely beautiful garden, house, pool... the delicious breakfast on the terrace was a perfect start in each day. Beautiful, spacious room, everything was very clean as well. Short walk to the beach, short walk to Nomad's bar.. But the best part of the stay was Kiko, the host + his family and friends! They really made me feel at home, helped with everything, Kiko even invited me to an event at the beach hosted by himself. So, highly recommended!!"

"Insgesamt hat es uns ganz gut gefallen im Mami Wata House. Zimmer und Bett waren gemütlich, der Garten ausgesprochen hübsch mit wunderbarem Baobab Baum und der Pool in angenehmer Größe. Sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit waren der Gärtner, der Hausmeister und der junge Mann im Nachtdienst."

"Es gab aber auch einiges, was uns nicht gefallen hat. Das Haus liegt fußläufig etwas 10 bis 15 Minuten vom Strand entfernt. Das ist zwar nicht weit, der Weg ist aber bei Tag heiß und staubig, bei Nacht stockdunkel, so daß man eine Taschenlampe benötigt und sich nicht wirklich sicher fühlt. In den ersten Tagen waren auf dem Gelände immer die zwei Hunde unterwegs, von denen wir im Vorfeld wußten. Nicht klar war uns, dass besonders der Große so anhänglich ist, dass wir nicht einmal das Zimmer verlassen konnten, ohne ihn sofort im Zimmer zu haben oder er den Weg zum Zimmer blockiert hat. Außerdem badet er im Pool, was wir als sehr unhygienisch empfanden. Erst als wir das beim Besitzer ansprachen, wurden die Hunde ins benachbarte Haus gebracht. Ansprechen mussten wir auch die zerrissenen Handtücher, die wir anfangs bekamen (was ja bereits andere Gäste in die Bewertung geschrieben haben). Danach wurde uns von den Mitarbeitern ein Kommunikationsproblem vorgeworfen. Dabei hatte man uns vorher bei jeder versuchten Absprache gesagt, wir müssten uns beim Chef melden, der aber verreist war und den wir nicht in seinem Urlaub stören wollten. Man muss sich auch darüber im Klaren sein, dass es wenig Privatsphäre dort gibt. Unsere Nachbarn mussten immer an unseren Zimmertüren und Fenstern vorbei, wenn sie aufs Gelände wollten. Das Frühstück bestand über elf Tage aus Früchten, Toast mit der immer gleichen Marmelade und Eiern. Abwechslung gab es keine, sodass wir uns selbst Müsli und Joghurt besorgten. All dies veranlasste uns dazu, uns ein anderes Hotel für die letzten fünf Nächte zu suchen. Obwohl wir vorher bereits elf Nächte dort wohnten, war der Besitzer nicht bereit, uns finanziell entgegen zu kommen."
