"The room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was beautifully freshly made and served in the morning by lovely ladies. We were received kindly with mint tea and biscotti by Ismil. He draw everything we needed on a paper map for us and answered every question and even walked us back to our taxi on check out with our luggage. Our stay was just lovely!"

"The shower room was a bit dark and the extractor fan was dusty and hadn't been cleaned. Also the noise outside through the night both nights made it hard to sleep well."

"Having travelled across southern Morocco we arrived in Riad Dar Awil, which I chose because the decor is very different from most of the Moroccan riads (which we love btw) we have stayed in, extremely stylish with simple, bold decorative choices and beautiful art and artefacts. The service was faultless, the location central and quiet, the room spacious, and the breakfast was plentiful and delicious."

"Riad Dar Awil is a small, 10 room hotel in the center of Essouaira (i.e. within the medina or old town walls). The welcome was very fernery and efficient. Our room wass large and clean, with an in-suite bathroom and a large cupboard. It overlooked into the street on one side, and into the inner courtyard on the other. Breakfast was very good very tasty and plentiful. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Altogether recommended."

"We had the place mostly to ourselves the first few nights, and on the last night a family arrived late and made a LOT of noise which woke us up multiple times — so we realised the building is not sound proof at all, and we just got lucky the first few nights! So bring earplugs."
