"Beautiful place in a fantastic landscape. Loved it all and the sundowner drinks above the lodge on the rocks with stunning views was breathtaking. Everything was so well planned and the staff lovely. Do the elephant trip if you have time - it was another holiday highlight."

"Such a beautiful lodge located inside the first park gate which gives you an extra hour in the morning and evening. Amazing buffets breakfast and dinner and a nice box lunch for our day in the park."

"Staff was very friendly and attentive. We arrived after lunch so they made sure we got packed lunch the day after. The tents are very nicely furnished and are spacious. The fact that you are staying inside the first gate is worth the extra money - you can really be one of the first on Big Daddy for sunrise. Dinner was generous (although the impala and ostrich meat was a bit chewy). The starry sky is incredible from here. No light pollution at all. The nicest we saw in Namibia!"

"We loved the location and the lodge was very well laid out especially the main area ie. swimming pool, dining area and bar. The room was very spacious and had a gorgeous outlook."

"I can’t think of a better location than this lodge on the edge of the desert. It is ideally situated being inside the first gate for access to Deadvlei at sunrise. It is very tastefully designed and decorated, with fantastic views all around you are. You are literally on the edge of the desert and the sophisticated tense are exceptionally well laid out and furnished. What is the staff that really makes this place."

"They really need to pay more attention to the pool. It is a beautiful facility but not as well catch as it ought to be forL the cost of this resort."

"Pool hadn’t been cleaned - understand sand blows in during desert location but it was more than sand issue. It It was cleaned during our second day."

"Dead Valley Lodge was stunning on the Web and it's even more stunning in reality. Just THE most incredibly special place. Wow! Wow! Wow! I read other reviews on this site due to which I asked for a front row room which I got and it was well worth it. Sadly the Aircon went wrong in our stay making it pretty hot over night. All the staff were really great, professional and friendly. The only thing that we were disappointed with was - at 10pm on New Years Eve the bar closed and the staff left leaving us no opportunity to celebrate."

"I realise all food has to travel a long way to the lodge making food sourcing difficult, but i think a better selection of vegetarian food would be good. I'm personally not a veggie but I'd have like some choice."
