"The garden view apartment itself was fine and the breakfast provided was good quality. Unfortunately for us it did not match the description."
"The description did not say there were two apartments. There was nothing in the description for the property to say this so we understood there were full cooking facilities.( the other apartment) Arrived after just being to the supermarket to find out this was not the case and the fridge was small with not enough room for our food. Unfortunately we had to throw it away. We did query the description with the owner who provided us with a cool box and told us to go to the garage to get some ice. This was not sufficient to save our food from going off. We had to eat out for two nights which we hadn’t budgeted for. Not happy and have complained to booking.com but no compensation forthcoming for incorrect description and extra expense incurred"

"Great stay at Black Peak View. Close to town, even walkable if you like. Lovely space, comfortable, clean and so very quiet. The view is fantastic. Nice to look out and see rabbits about. Hellen was a wonderful host. Would gladly stay again and again."

"Lovely large garden room which was quite delightful and we were left a tasty continental breakfast with fresh muffins. Outside we had a choice of two shaded sitting out areas in an expansive garden. You could see the hills beyond.Our hosts were very nice, we felt welcomed. We liked the lovely-smelling toiletries!"
"We found the bed a little firm to our taste. It was a very hot night and there was a fan rather than aircon, but we felt okay leaving windows open. Otherwise fine."

"We made a last minute booking at Smylies and were very pleased with the accommodation. Friendly welcome from Keiko who showed us to our motel room. Good sized room with a well equipped kitchen for self catering. Nice big comfy bed and hot shower with a nice lounge area & TV. We were next to the main road but it wasn't too busy or noisy. We had a great night's sleep. The grounds are varied with animals nearby, a lush garden to explore and outdoor seating for relaxing. We were invited to visit the library and games area if we wanted. Colin was happy to share useful advice about the weather conditions and places we could visit along route to our next stay which we accepted and enjoyed along our journey. Many thanks Colin! We thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay at Smylies."
