La Duna Desert Camp

"There is nothing quite like this amazing experience. Completely alone in the desert in a beautifully designed, spacious tent. The setup is stylish and comfortable, and waking up to nothing but sand dunes in every direction is pretty hard to beat. Meals are driven out to you across the desert, with camels and goats wandering over to say hello, sunrise from the bed. At night, you can see a sky full of stars. It was truly magical"

"This place was the highlight of our Oman trip. Everything was great from the accommodation to the meals. We transferred to the camp in our own 4WD vehicle following a guide (free at 4PM + tip). Dinner and breakfast were delivered to the camp. The camp location is ideal as it is isolated yet not too deep in to the dessert to access therefore a standard 4WD SUV is sufficient (no land cruiser necessary). This place is only luxury tent and not a large camp with many cramped tents. The dinner and dune bashing were an additional cost but reasonably priced considering the location."

"Amazing experience! The location felt secluded. We had all the privacy in the world. Food was amazing! Beds were very comfortable!"

"Like another review said. If you want hot water you need to turn on the generator outside which can be a bit of a hassle and a lot of noise. However, we showered during the day and the water was hot enough without the generator on. Phones can still be charged without the generator. You are completely secluded in the dessert, so don't expect a light switch for a generator :) it was no problem for us."

"La Duna Desert camp is a special place. Not often you find a private 5* tent in the middle of the desert, but here we are. Eat and sleep under the stars, sunrise in your face for breakfast. We were lucky enough to have camels right by at sunset. A picture postcard! Dinner was delicious."

"The diesel generator… it’s needed and we turned it off whenever possible… but it is a bit noisy. Also, the V8 dune-bashers that tear around sort of ruin the tranquility of the place. I guess that part of the attraction, but we prefer peace and quiet. It didn’t spoil our trip… but just took the edge off."

"Your own luxury camp in the desert - beautiful! It’s like you see it in the pictures! There are a few things guests need to know: - electricity and warm water require a generator (which you can turn on yourself) which makes a lot of noise. If you want a hot shower in the morning, you need to go outside first to put on the generator and wait 15 minutes for hot water. Camping life! - you’re alone but not in the “middle of nowhere”. You can still see other buildings in the desert and you’re not super deep into the desert which makes there is light pollution from nearby cities - bring own snacks :-) Overall great experience; we’d book this place again and it’s no doubt much nicer than the big camps. Owner is also constantly in touch via Whatsapp to check if all is well."

"We did a hot air balloon tour and quads which were great. However, the “desert safari” was a big disappointment with a lot of driving and 0 authenticity - would not recommend this (e.g. we saw ‘the arabian oryx’ in a small cage; the “bedouin house” was essentially a gift shop, etc.)"

"The room is very nicely decorated, modern, cozy and very clean. The bathroom is perfect with hot water available. The location is far from other desert camps which makes it very private and peaceful. Dinner and breakfast were amazing."

"The whole experience was incredible. The tent's location is unbelievable. You really are alone in desert luxury. The bed is really comfortable, the bathroom is beautiful and the setting is magical. We were treated so nicely with meals delivered to us and exceptional service. Having dinner in the desert and then waking up to watch the sunrise was gorgeous. The dune bashing was great fun and good value for money. We were lucky to have camels come by in the morning and it was the absolute perfect place for a proposal. Even without that, staying here is the most romantic, beautiful setting i could ever have imagined."
