Lying within the boundaries and overlooking valleys of the Hoang Lien National Park, Topas Ecolodge is a quaint and charming mountain property where guests can freely mingle with the ethnic villagers. A free shuttle bus operates daily to and from Sa Pa Town, 18 km away (Please reserve at least 24 hours in advance as there are limited seats and departures). Besides admiring the beautiful scenery, other activities include cycling and trekking or simply enjoying the free WiFi in the public areas. Granite walls and wooden furnishings add to the rustic feel of the guestrooms. Guests have a choice of heated or air-conditioned rooms, all equipped with a private bathroom and balcony to enjoy the views of the valley. Topas Ecolodge is located within Ban Lech Village overlooking Hoang Lien Mountain Range. It is 38 km from Hoang Lien National Park Visitor Centre, while Lao Cai Train Station is 53 km away. A daily breakfast buffet is served at the lodge's kulinářský svět. Asian dishes are also available throughout the day. Guests can also find a lounge with a bar. Day trips and packed lunches can be arranged at the tour desk. Valuables can be stored at the front desk's safety deposit boxes.

"Poor attention to detail with guests. Noisy pool pumps left on through the night, broken/dirty coffee machine, tea bags not refilled, dirty cups from previous guests left in room, glasses left uncleared, slow and unhelpful reception, limited curtains or shutters (e.g., possible to see into bathroom from the restaurant above). Too many people using the swimming pool for an instagram/tiktok photoshoot meant difficult for other guests to enjoy. Overall a substandard approach to standards that took away from what is an amazing lodge. This could easily be fixed…"

"Staff were friendly and location is good. Room was clean and linen was fresh. Great coffee and cold beer at the shop on the corner.and lots of food choices around. Karaoke at the beach with the locals was fun at the weekend and we also loved watching the fishing boats come in."

"Owner and personnel do not speak English, but they do everything they can to make the stay comfortable. They really care. For example, when I got issue to get a GRAB taxi because of the end of New Lunar Year celebration, they helped me to get a bus. By myself it would definitely be worse. Employee who helped even refused to get some cash for her help. Another one point, when AI translation was not satisfying, owner called to her daughter who is fluent in English. So she translated and all misunderstanding were corrected."
