"Very well decorated property with good sized rooms. Rooms had large beds and bathrooms, and were clean. The pool area was well put together and the grounds well maintained. Located a 15 min walk away from the main village, so nice and quiet. Amazing wildlife within the grounds."

"The breakfast hours could be longer to accommodate those that do early morning activities (breakfast finishes at 9am). Amenities in the room were lacking for a hotel of this quality. Some more loungers round the pool area would help as it gets crowded very quickly."

"It’s hard to sum up Mawamba Lodge as anything other than a really special and beautiful hotel. We had an amazing stay here. The hotel grounds and the rooms are beautiful. You’re right next to the river and there’s many nice spots to sit and take it all in. There’s so much wildlife in the hotel, we saw a sloth, iguanas and loads of birds. We also enjoyed a kayaking tour with Brian and saw so much with him, including monkeys and a caiman. We loved loved how the rooms had nets instead of windows so you could wake up to the sound of the birds in the morning. The food was great, and we loved the floating restaurant - what a unique experience! There’s staff were very friendly and helpful. We couldn’t recommend this hotel enough if you want to be immersed in nature and have a more authentic experience. Thank you Mawamba Lodge for an unforgettable time away!"

"Drying clothes was impossible in the humidity and a way to get clothes dried, not necessarily washed, would have been useful. The food menu was limited although the lunch bowls and tacos were very good. We didn’t eat any evening meals as there was nothing we fancied."
