"I never got to stay in the hotel. I booked the accommodation and paid for it. My car then let me down and I was unable to get to the hotel. However I contacted the hotel and they very kindly advised me that they would refund me the money I had paid. I felt that this was more than fair and deserved a “mention” Thank You"

"Extremely good value for money. Easy to find and very close to ample public parking. It's also right opposite the station, so very handy for those coming by train. The staff were helpful and friendly, and the breakfast very much what I needed before the next long drive. The bar provided refreshment and relaxation after a day in the car, and the proximity to an unfancy but perfectly adequate restaurant means you don't have to get back in the car to get supper."

"Easy to find, warm welcome, good parking, comfortable room. Also, unlike another hotel I stayed in in Modane, this one had its sign lit up, so much easier to spot for the solo driver after dark. The manager is Italian, so the coffee's good. (It's also a bar.) Very good value. The photo I've attached is of the station across the street, demonstrating its location, as well as its convenience for those arriving by train."

"Modane isn't my favourite town, although the snow lent it some much needed atmosphere."

"Friendly and helpful staff. Went above and beyond to help with my unusual request. Very good shower with waterfall shower head and hot constant water stream. Quite with no noises from other rooms. Easy to find and lots of free parking around."

"Staff were friendly and helpful on arrival. The room was clean and well maintained, with a comfortable bed. There are takeaways, restaurants and a supermarket nearby."

"We stopped for 1 night on the GR5 hike. This isn't a tourist spot- it is convenient for the GR5 or the rail station, but somewhere to spend a night not a whole holiday."
