"A most unusual apartment, in a historical building dating back 900 years and decorated with love by the owner. The location is excellent, very close to the Abbey but very quiet, and the rooms are spacious and fascinating. Our hostess could not have been kinder or more attentive."
"For us it wasn't a problem, but there are a lot of stairs, including a medieval stone staircase! It might be difficult for some people."

"Everything about our trip was amazing. The accommodation was a one-of-a-kind residence reminiscent of a medieval castle, while at the same time being extremely spacious and comfortable. The location is in the heart of Cluny and everything in the historic town is just a few minutes’ walk away. Elisabeth and Francois were incredible hosts who consistently went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed during our stay. This was one of our favorite vacations ever in large part because of their generous hospitality. We will certainly be back and stay at Maison Romane 1136 again."

"This is by far the best place I stayed at , save for my own home! I did not want to leave. Beautifully furnished and equipped. Fantastic hosts and fellow old properties renovators. The medieval house is renovated with huge sensitivity to the original and furnished with quirky wonderful pieces. Please don’t book there (too often!) because I really want to be able to go back !"

"The location is AMAZING. If you are looking for a medieval atmosphere, it is THE place. The room is large and quiet, walking on the floor tiles is an experience and the bathroom sink in encased within an ancient chest!!! Moreover, the owner gave us an extraordinary welcome!"

"Just a little out of town in the countryside. A wonderful welcome from our hosts, secure parking for the bikes. A fridge for our use, hot showers, lots of towels. Comfy bed, able to use kitchen to make simple meal. Lots of fun with English/ Italian snd French spoken at breakfast. And lovely little well behaved dog to engage with! 😁"
