"Beautiful location. Wonderful to be wakened by the birdlife each morning."

Would have been nice if pool had been heated - a bit cool in the late afternoon for a swim. Recognize this would differ seasonally.

"Exceptional environment, well-kept, among the trees, calm, peaceful. The cottages are built in such a way that they have a pleasant temperature without air conditioning or fans. At night, for the first time in Gambia, I had to cover myself with a duvet. The owner and staff were extremely kind, accommodating, unobtrusive."

"Nice forest hut on the edge of a forest - 10 min to a beach by foot. You are really almost in the middle of nature here. The forest was full of blackberries when we were there. The kitchenette corner is smallish but sufficient to make a meal for a family of four."

It may be a bit challenging to find the right road leading to the house, but we managed. Go past the road leading to the two storey apartment houses, and turn to the left of the warehouse-like structure which is further on the road.

"Breakfast was fine - just remember to inform the owner the day before if you require breakfast. Ingrid, the co-owner, is a lovely woman and a fine, traditional cook. You will never leave the table hungry! Whilst she can offer beer at an extra cost, we tended to buy our own along with wine to drink at dinner. Again, you will need to inform Ingrid on the day if you require dinner later. There is no choice; me and my wife are both omnivores with no allergies or intollerances, and always liked what she prepared! Our lodge was spacious with a generous deck overlooking the beautiful gardens, and the sea in the background."

A small fridge in our lodge would have been a great bonus - however, we were free to use Ingrid's fridge. The shower was also a little on the dribbly side!

"Na první dobrou nás zaujala cena za dvě osoby včetně snídaně. Když jsme došli do ubytování, připadali jsme si jako v rodinném letním sídle. Paní Drita je velmi milá hostitelka, která je vděčná za své hosty, neustále má úsměv na rtech. Jídlo z nejen domácích plodů je prostě fantastické. Snídaně se nedala sníst, bylo toho tolik! Co jsme chtěli, mohli jsme si zabalit s sebou na další cestu. Všechno super čisté, při putování v horách rozhodně nepotřebujeme víc, raději podpoříme místní obyvatele než velké hotely. K dispozici je i pračka. Ještě jednou moc děkujeme!"

The wifi service wasn't not getting it in the apartment have to go out side.

"Moderní a elegantní ubytování, nachází se hned vedle jezera kde je tmavá obloha - ideální pro pozorování polárních září. Klimatizace na pokoji, která zároveň funguje jako topení v zimě je také fajn."

Na jednu či dvě noci je to ideální ubytování v poměru cena/ výkon. Ale od tří více už bych si připlatil za nějaký apartmán. Studio je poměrně malé a postrádá úložné prostory - žádné skříně, poličky, apod. Do koupelny je přímo do sprchy a sauny vidět skrze okénko z ulice. Nejsou tam žádné žaluzie - je potřeba si tam nějak kreativně upevnit ručník, když nechcete být vidět. Také odvětrávání koupelny není dobré - okno nejde otevřít a tak voda z otevřeného sprchového koutu bez dveří jen pomalu vysychá. Co mě po druhé noci začalo mimořádně vadit je větrání v pokoji - v intervalech cca 2 minuty se zapíná, následně na minutu vypne a opět zapne. V noci když je ticho to je dost rušivé - ať to buďto běží pořád, nebo to jde nastavit, ale nenašli jsme možnost to vypnout. Vypínače světel fungovali na občasné bázi. Asi nejsou správně seřízené obvody. Někdy fungoval jeden, jindy všechny, jindy zase ten, který nefungoval nikdy... ale to je oproti předchozím výtkám spíše detail.

"Great location. Super friendly staff who provided a warm welcome and farewell. Since there were only a few guests, they upgraded our rooms to exceptional ones. Excellent activities and dinner. Cozy fireplace at night. A fantastic experience. Definitely worth repeating and highly recommended."

"Located exactly on the mountain, with exceptional views. Facilities were clean, comfortable and well heated. Staff were very helpful to transfer us to the hotel when we arrived, as the car park was a bit far from the hotel. They also treated us exceptionally well, and were always ready to accommodate us with our needs. Food and drinks were also really good. All in all 10/10 stay"

"We were generously upgraded to the Langakali house from the Heilala initially booked at no extra charge. This worked out perfect having the extra bathroom. The house was easily accessible on our arrival with overall good communication from the renters. Nina was beautiful and did countless loads of washing for us with no hesitation included in the accomodation price. Green Lodge is close proximity to town and our families village so was a prime location for us. Screens on doors and windows were a plus, coils and basic toiletries and essentials were provided and ample storage throughout. A quiet area that felt very safe. Style of the house is older, but comfortable enough, we felt at home being here."

Although screens were throughout, you will still need repellent and extra coils. The ensuite bathroom toilet wouldn’t always flush properly and the wifi wasn’t working. It would be a plus to have one more fan in the third bedroom of the Langakali house and

"Beautiful surroundings, so calm. The host is incredibly helpful and kind. This refuge is his personal project, and you can see his passion. The surrounding villages are small but lovely to walk through. There are nice hikes possible, including to the peak of Mount Agou, the people on the paths will kindly guide you to your destination. They are truly kind."

The location on the map is slightly off, ask for a pin before you arrive to make sure you find the right place!

"Very comfortable room, although close to main road no significant road noise. Lovely setting at edge of town with immediate access for cycle or walking in fields behind. Staff very helpful and food good value for hotel facilities. Ample breakfast included too. They offer excursions but we did not try due to lack of time. Hotel arranged transfer to airport which was perfect."
