"This is a family run hotel managed by Guru,his wife and son who were very good hosts kind and courteous too. We enjoyed our stay. The hotel and the front garden is kept very clean including the rooms. Hot water available for the shower,comfy beds and a kettle available. Breakfast was a choice of eggs and toast,yoghurt and muesli too. I am of Indian heritage and love Masala chaii! Guru's wife who was always smiling made me not one but two mugs of delicious Masala Chaii every morning during our stay for breakfast. We had to check out at 7am on our last day Guru's wife made a breakfast box for us. The location was near everything, the lake, ATM's,tour operators,restaurants/cafes,shopping and plenty of salons/massage parlours. We were both vegetarians and found plenty of vegetarian/vegan and Halal options too"

"Good location in a quiet area only a short distance from Lakeside. Owner (Guru) and his family were helpful and did their best to make my stay comfortable. The room was spacious, comfortable bed, hot shower and good wifi."

"Nothing. My only gripe was a dog barking for a couple of hours in the early morning that disturbed my sleep - nothing the hotel could do about that, and it seems to be common in Nepal."

"It was my second stay there after trekking. Very comfortable and flexible. Great location. And they even packed my breakfast as I had to check out early in the morning."

"The room was very spacious, well equipped and comfortable. The manager and the staff was super helpful and flexible. If you plan trekking you can even leave your luggage here. They also arranged my laundry while I was away in the mountains. They also have suggestions and tips on how to get to places. All in all, very pleasant experience."

"The hotel is ideally located close to the lakeside but situated in a calm, quiet and safe area, close to numerous restaurants and convenience stores. Checking in was prompt and was done by the owner Guru, who along with his family are incredibly friendly and helpful should you have any questions. My room was spotlessly clean, had a huge bed and benefited from a balcony which had distance views of the snow capped mountains. An appetising breakfast was served in the pleasant and shaded garden. I fully enjoyed my four night stay at the hotel guru, and can wholeheartedly recommend a stay at this friendly establishment."

"Hotel Guru is situated 5 mins from the lake and it is so very quiet. The rooms are impeccably clean and the bathroom has a western style glass screen that prevents the floor becoming wet…and slippery. Guru was a guide in his younger days and is a good source of information This is a family run business so it has a lovely homestay feel within a hotel. Everyone is very kind and they care about their guests. Guru and his sons all speak English. There is a nice outside seating area in the cool of the fruit trees. The substantial breakfast is home cooked. Arriving back after a trip was like coming home with their warm greetings. During the recent protests I felt completely safe and secure at the hotel with constant updates from Guru. Thank you."
